Mary Phil Korsak
Born and educated in England, Mary Phil Korsak (née Malone) studied at Paris and Oxford Universities and taught for many years at the Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels. She interrupted her teaching career to pursue biblical studies with Christian and Jewish teachers.
Since then, she has addressed international Conferences on the Bible and on Literary Translation and published in Europe and the USA. Publications include her translation of Hebrew Genesis (Louvain Cahiers, 1992; Doubleday, NY, 1993). As president of the Organising Committee for the Fifth Biennial Conference of The European Society of Women for Theological Research, (Louvain University, 1993), she promoted interreligious dialogue (Hindu, Jewish, Christian, Muslim). Mary Phil and her husband live in Brussels. They have four sons and two daughters.
