Wajdi Mouawad
Wajdi Mouawad is a playwright, actor, director, adaptor, and translator based in Montreal.
Among his plays are Journée de noces chez les Cromagnons, Willy Protagoras enfermé dans les toilettes, Les mains d'Edwige au moment de la naissance, Littoral, and Rêve (which premiered at the Festival des Amériques in Montreal in June 1999). In addition to his own plays, he has directed plays by other writers including Le tour de monde de Jo Maquillon, Disco Pigs (which he also co-translated) and Oedipe Roi. He has performed in Les Chaises and Cabaret Neiges Noires. His adaptation of Don Quichotte was presented at the Théâtre de Nouveau Monde in Montreal. In January 2000, he becomes the artistic director of the Théâtre de Quat`Sous in Montreal.
