Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize 2008

The shortlist for the 2008 Prize has been announced:

Tr. Natasha Randall, Yevgeny Zamyatin, We (Vintage)

Tr. Ina Rilke, W. F. Hermans, The Darkroom of Damocles (Harvill Secker)

The Oxford-Weidenfeld Prize is for translations into English from any living European language. This year, Helen Dunmore joins the juding panel alongside the Oxford academics and translators Katherine Lunn-Rockliffe, Chris Miller, and Matthew Reynolds (Chair). 

The winner will be announced at an event at St Anne’s College Oxford on 5th June.

The Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize is funded by Lord Weidenfeld, and by New College, The Queen’s College and St Anne’s College, Oxford.
