The ALTA website provides a great deal of practical information of interest to all literary translators, not just ALTA members. This includes journals, conferences, research, publications, events, calls for papers, prizes and other issues of professional interest. Publications include the ALTA Guides to Literary Translation, a series of pamphlets on specific practical topics including 'Breaking into Print': How to get in to Literary Translation.

CETRA is a centre which runs a successful annual Summer School at Misano, Italy, for students and researchers who are about to embark on a postgraduate course in translation. It is a highly successful star-studded event, headed each year by a different international figure in the field of translation studies, and enjoying the support of translation scholars on a rotating basis.

Based in the Writing Division of the Columbia University School of the Arts, the Center is the joint creation of PEN American Center, the online magazine Words Without Borders, the poetry journal Circumference and the Writing Division itself. It seeks to promote the study of translation, increase the number and quality of the literary translations published in English, and coordinate programmes and initiatives that enhance awareness of the art of translation, the work of translators, and literature not written in English.

Finland
Finnish Literature Information Centre - FILI FILI promotes the translation of literature, raises awareness of Finnish literature abroad and provides financial support for the translation into other languages of both fiction and non-fiction written in Finnish, Finland-Swedish and Saami. In addition FILI provides funding for the translation of fiction and non-fiction into Finnish and for the translation of academic publications and non-fiction into Swedish.

Welsh Literature Abroad Llenyddiaeth Cymru Dramor/Welsh Literature Abroad Tel: +44 1970 622 241/544 Welsh Literature Abroad (WLA) is an agency funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Wales Arts International to facilitate the translation of Wales' literatures and to promote the literatures and writers of Wales internationally. Working with translators and publishers in Wales and overseas, WLA promotes the sale of translation rights, participates in international book fairs and international literature projects, and collaborates with festivals and events abroad to increase the profile of Welsh writing. Publishers can apply for translation grants towards the cost of translating Welsh and English-language literary works into other languages.
